Frábær foreldrafundur // A great parent meeting

Mánudaginn síðastliðinn, 13.desember, héldu félagsmiðstöðvar Tjarnarinnar, grunnskólar hverfisins og þjónustumiðstöðin mikilvægan foreldrafund þar sem farið var yfir niðurstöður rannsókna og greininga á stöðu unglinganna okkar í hverfinu og farið var yfir verndandi þættina í uppeldi barna og unglinga. Fram komu þau Margrét Lilja Guðmundsdóttir sérfræðingur hjá Rannsókn og greiningu og Gunnlaugur Víðir Guðmundsson forstöðumaður í félagsmiðstöðinni Gleðibankanum og Flotanum – flakkandi félagsmiðstöð.

Það var virkilega góð mæting frá foreldrum og er greinilegt að samstaða foreldra hverfisins er mikil. Öll viljum við stuðla að öryggi og velferð okkar barns og til þess er mikilvægt að við þekkjum stöðuna í unglingahópnum og þær áskoranir sem unglingarnir okkar standa frammi fyrir. Einnig er nauðsynlegt að vita hvernig við getum sem best sinnt okkar hlutverki í að vernda þau og styðja til að láta drauma sína rætast.

Við þökkum kærlega fyrir góða mætingu á þennan ótrúlega góða fund. Við hvetjum alla sem ekki komust á fundinn að hafa samband forstöðumann sinnar félagsmiðstöðvar til að nálgast upptöku af fundinum.

Last Monday, December the 13th, Tjörnin leisure center, the primary schools and the service center held an important parent meeting where the results from research and analysis of the situation of our teenagers in the neighborhood were reviewed and the protective aspects of raising children and adolescents were presented. The lecturers were Margrét Lilja Guðmundsdóttir, an expert at Research and Analysis, and Gunnlaugur Víðir Guðmundsson, manager of Gleðibankinn youth center and Flotinn roaming youth center.

The turnout from parents was really good and it is clear that the solidarity of the parents of the neighborhood is great. We all want to promote the safety and well-being of our child and therefor it is important that we know the situation in the group of teenagers and the challenges that our teenagers face. It is also necessary to know how we can best fulfill our role in protecting and supporting them to make their dreams come true.

We thank you very much for attending this incredibly good meeting. We encourage everyone who did not attend the meeting to contact the manager of their youth club to obtain a recording of the meeting.
