Vorið í Eldflauginni
Til að fagna afléttingu samkomubannsins í frístund var blásið til umhverfisdags á seinasta degi aprílmánaðar. Þar tóku krakkarnir og starfsmenn höndum saman og týndu rusl af skólalóðinni og fengu síðan íspinna í verðlaun. Allur maí í Eldflauginni hefur síðan verið haldin hátíðlegur eftir að samkomubanni var aflétt í byrjun maí, en 4. maí tók hefðbundið frístundarstarf við. Ákveðið var að hafa dótadag í tilefni þess þann 8. maí þar sem börnin fengu að koma með uppáhalds dótið sitt. Teknar voru (ópersónugreinanlegar) ljósmyndir af þeim og eru þær nú sýndar í glugga frístundaheimilisins. Þessi viðburður er hluti af Barnamenningarhátíð í Reykjavík 2020.
Eftir að hefðbundið frístundarstarf hófst á ný hafa krakkarnir notið góðs af ýmsum smiðjum, dóti og hressingu. Síðast en ekki síst hefur ríkt mikil ánægja meðal barnanna að Víðir leyfir þeim leika við alla félagana án hópaskiptingar.
To celebrate the alleviation of the gathering ban in the after school program we had an environment day on the last day of April. Children and staff alike picked trash on the school grounds and got an ice lolly as a reward. May has been celebrated in general in Eldflaugin since the gathering ban was alleviated and the normal program took over on May 4th. We decided to have a toy day on May 8th where the children were allowed to bring their favorite toy with them. We then took unidentifiable photographs of them and they are now displayed in the windows of Eldflaugin. This event is part of the Children‘s culture festival in Reykjavík 2020. Since Eldflaugin returned to normal the children have enjoyed various workshops, toys and refreshments. Last but not least the children have been especially happy that Víðir allows them to play with all their friends without being divided into groups.
