Norræna rafíþróttamótið 2020 // Nordic e-sport united 2020

Síðastliðna helgi fór fram Norræna Rafíþróttamótið en mótið var samstarfsverkefni Samfés og Ungdomsringen. Norðurlandamótið var haldið að frumkvæði ungs fólks sem eru þátttakendur í samnorrænu samstarfsverkefni allra Norðurlandanna í verkefninu Menntun fyrir alla, þar sem áhersla er m.a. lögð á samtal ungs fólks um heimsmarkmið 4.7.

Þátttaka á viðburðinum var ókeypis og keppt var um glæsilega vinninga. Mótið var frá byrjun skipulagt sem rafrænt mót sem hentaði vel miðað við aðstæður. Komið var upp Discord rás þar sem skipulag og samskipti spilaranna fór fram. Þátttaka á mótinu var mjög góð og voru þátttakendur mótsins og áhorfendur sem fylgdust með í beinni útsendingu frá Twitch rásum Ungdomsringen og Samfés í báðum löndum mjög spenntir og ánægðir með þetta nýja og skemmtilega og landamæralausa rafíþróttamót ungmenna. Keppt var í leiknum Fortnite, bæði allir á móti öllum (Solo) og í tveggja manna liðum (Duo‘s). Þar að auki var keppt í Counter Strike GO í tveggja manna liðum (2v2) og fimm manna liðum (5v5).

Öllum félagsmiðstöðvum landsins var boðið að taka þátt og voru þátttakendur frá öllum félagsmiðstöðvum Tjarnarinnar. Liðið The Boys úr félagsmiðstöðinni 100og1 hrepptu annað sætið þegar þeir kepptu í fimm manna liða riðli í leiknum CS:GO. The Boys samanstendur af meisturunum Alexander Björnssyni, Huga Hreinssyni, Nóa Kárasyni, Baltasar Owen Gautasyni og Ara Þór Kristmundssyni.

Ekki nóg með það heldur hrepptu þeir Arngrímur Dagur Arnarsson úr félagsmiðstöðinni 100og1 og Brynjar Bragi Einarsson úr félagsmiðstöðinni 105 í liðinu Albus And Tofu líka annað sæti í Fortnite Duo‘s.

Lið Gleðibankans, þeir Benjamín Guðmundsson, Dagur Máni Engilbertsson, Einar Breki Zoega og Sölvi Högnason kepptu ásamt Kormáki Krumma Guðmundssyni úr félagsmiðstöðinni Frosta í fimm manna liði í CS:GO. Jakub Zachara  frá 100og1 keppti ásamt öðrum í tveggja manna liði í Fortnite.  Allir stóðu þeir sig eins og hetjur og það verður gaman að fylgjast með þeim í framtíðinni.

Við erum ótrúlega stolt af þessum magnaða árangri hjá þeim og öllum sem tóku þátt, enda stór mál að keppa á móti sterkum liðum í rafíþróttum frá Danmörku og Íslandi.

Last weekend the Nordic E-sport united Tournament took place which was a joint project of Samfés and Ungdomsringen. The Nordic tournament was held at the initiative of young people who are participants in a joint Nordic co-operation project in the Education for All project, which focuses on e.g. young people’s conversation about world goals 4.7

Participation in the event was free and they were competing for great prizes. From the beginning the tournament was organized as an online tournament that was well suited to the situation today. A Discord channel was set up where the players organization and communication took place. The participation in the tournament was very good and the participants of the tournament and the spectators who watched the live broadcast from Twitch channels Ungdomsringen and Samfés in both countries were very excited and happy with this new and fun and borderless youth electronic sports tournament. They competed in the Fortnite game, both solo and in duo’s. Players could compete in Counter Strike GO in two-person teams (2v2) and five-person teams (5v5).

All youth clubs in the country were invited to participate and there were participants from all youth clubs in Tjörnin. The Boys, a team from the 100&1 youth club took second place when they competed in the five-man group in the CS: GO game. The Boys consists of the champions Alexander Björnsson, Hugur Hreinsson, Nói Kárason, Baltasar Owen Gautason and Ari Þór Kristmundsson.

Not only that, but Arngrímur Dagur Arnarsson from the youth club 100og1 and Brynjar Bragi Einarsson from the youth club 105 in the team Albus And Tofu also took second place in Fortnite Duo’s.

Gleðibanki’s team, comprising of Benjamín Guðmundsson, Dagur Máni Engilbertsson, Einar Breki Zoega and Sölvi Högnason with Kormákur Krummi Guðmundsson from Frosti youth club competed in a five-man team in CS: GO. Jakub Zachara from 100og1 competed with others in a two-man team at Fortnite. They all stood out as heroes and it will be fun to watch them in the future.

We are incredibly proud of their amazing performance and proud of everyone who took part, as it is a big deal to compete against strong teams in e-sports from Denmark and Iceland.
