Loksins, loksins, LOKSINS er komið að því sem margir unglingar hafa beðið eftir. Ball í Spennistöðinni. Nemendaráð Austurbæjarskóla skipulagði ball fyrir samnemendur sína í unglingadeildinni. Þema ballsins er Fancy og er það opið til túlkunar. Húsið opnar kl. 19:30 og er ballið til 22:00. Við gætum varla verið spenntari að halda eitt gott ball með unglingunum okkar.

Fyrir böll er oft gott að ítreka nokkra hluti svo við getum öll  staðið saman að vímulausri og góðri skemmtun fyrir unglingana.

Reglurnar á ballinu:

1. Á ballinu á að sjálfsögðu að koma fram af virðingu og vinsemd við starfsfólk og aðra unglinga.
2. Unglingar í öðrum skólum geta því miður ekki komið á ballið.
3. Mikilvægt er að ganga vel um húsnæði og eigur félagsmiðstöðvarinnar.
4. Ekki má fara með vatn eða gos inn í salinn.
5. Tóbak, áfengi og aðrir vímugjafar eru að sjálfsögðu stranglega bannaðir.
6. Orkudrykkir eru bannaðir.
7. 150 manna hámark er inn á ballið. Ef það koma fleiri þurfum við að skipta fólki upp í rými.
8. Boðið verður upp á leita í töskum og vösum á úlpum. Ef einhverjum þykir það óþægilegt eða vill ekki að leitað sé í töskum/úlpum verður manneskjan að skilja úlpuna sína eða töskuna eftir inni á skrifstofu félagsmiðstöðvarinnar og fá til baka þegar ballinu lýkur.
9. Ef einhver gerist brotlegur við reglurnar verður hringt heim og ef brotið er alvarlegt verða foreldrar/forsjáraðilar beðnir um að sækja viðkomandi.

Verndandi þættir:

Tilfinning okkar er sú að með hækkandi sólu eykst neysla unglinga á tóbaki, áfengi og vímuefnum. Þess vegna höfum við tekið saman nokkra hluti sem aðrar rannsóknir hafa sýnt að séu árangursríkastir í að koma í veg fyrir þessa neysluhegðun.

– Fylgjumst með hvað unglingarnir eru gera og með hverjum þau eru. Oft hafa foreldrar og forsjáraðilar brugðið á það ráð að fylgja unglinunum sínum heim eftir ball og vera í góðu sambandi við hvort annað til að fylgjast með því hvar þau eru og hvað þau eru að gera.

– Leyfum ekki eftirlitslaus heimapartý. Við viljum að unglingarnir séu öruggir og í eftirlitslausum partýum geta aðstæður komið upp þar sem þau eru það ekki.

– Kaupum ekki áfengi fyrir unglinga. Með því að kaupa áfengi fyrir fólk undir aldri auðveldar það aðgengi að áfengi og þar af leiðandi eykst drykkjan og jafnvel hefur áhrif á neyslumunstur unglingahópsins.

Samvera, aðhald og eftirfylgni eru okkar bestu forvarnir og gerir það að verkum að unglingunum okkar líður betur og læra að skemmta sér á heilbrigðan og uppbyggilegan hátt.

Finally, finally, FINALLY, the moment many teenagers have been waiting for has come. A dance in Spennistöðin. The student council of Austurbæjarskóli organized a dance for their fellow students in 8th to 10th grade. The theme of the dance is Fancy and it is open to interpretation. The house opens at 19:30 and ends at 22:00. We could not be more excited to have a good dance with our teenagers.

Before a big dance it is good to go over few things for the dance so that we can all stand together for a good and fun night for the teenagers without alcohol and intoxicants.

The rules:

1. At the dance everyone are required to show respect and kindness to staff and other teenagers.
2. Teenagers in other schools can unfortunately not come to the dance.
3. It is important to take good care of the space and the property of the youth club.
4. Do not bring water or soda into dance hall.
5. Tobacco, alcohol and other intoxicants are, of course, strictly forbidden.
6. Energy drinks are prohibited.
7. A maximum of 150 people can enter the dance. If there are more, we need to divide people into different spaces.
8. We will offer to search in bags and pockets on coats. If someone finds it uncomfortable or does not want to have their bags / coats searched, the person must leave their coat or bag inside the youth clubs office and get it back when the dance is over.
9. If someone violates the rules, we will call home and if the violation is serious, parents / guardians will be asked to pick their teenager up.

Protective and preventative elements:

Our feeling is that with rising sun the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and intoxicants with adolescents increases. Therefore, we have compiled a number of things that other studies have shown to be most effective in preventing this consumption behavior.

– Monitor what the teenagers are doing and with whom they are. Often parents and guardians have been known to escort their teenagers home from dances and keeping in touch with each other to monitor where they are and what they are doing.

– Don’t allow parties without parental supervision. We want the adolescents to be safe and in unattended parties situations can arise where they are not.

– Don’t buy alcohol for teenagers. By buying alcohol for people under age facilitates access to alcohol and, as a result, increases the drinking and even affects the consumption patterns of the teenage group.

Being together with our teenagers, supervision and follow-up are our best preventions and make our teenagers feel better and they learn to enjoy themselves in a healthy and constructive way.

We are looking forward to having fun with our teenagers and we are so happy that we can finally have a dance!!
