Októberfréttir úr Eldflauginni

Það er búið að vera margt um að vera í Eldflauginni þennan október. Við höfum notið haustsins og öllum fallegu litunum sem því fylgir í botn. Við höfum lagt okkur fram við að vera úti í náttúrunni í alls konar leikjum og verkefnum. Við höfum líka notað tækifærið til að sækja okkur náttúrlegan efnivið í fallgt haustföndur.

Vikan 8.-12. Október var sameiginleg vísindavika á öllum frístundaheimilum Tjarnarinnar. Við í Eldflauginni tókum þátt af fullum krafti bjuggum til slím, gerðum eldfjöll, og bjuggum til málningu úr rakfroðu og matarlit. Það var líka farið í rannsóknarleiðuangur um okkar nánasta umhverfi með berum augum, smásjá og málmleitartækjum.

Október endaði síðan með heljarinnar Hrekkjavökuskemmtun.  Þá mátti sjá búningaklædd börn og starfsfólk á ferð og flugi í múmíuhlaupi, skrímslafóðrun og eplaveiði svo fátt eitt sé nefnt.

There has been a lot of action in Eldflaugin this October. We have been enjoying the autumn with all its beautiful colours and tried to spend as much time as possible outside. Among other activities, we have used the opportunity to collect materials for arts and crafts.

The week 8^th-12^th of October was dedicated to science in all of Tjörnin’s After School Centres. Eldflaugin went all in, we made various kinds of slime, made volcanoes, and made paint from shaving foam and food colouring. We also went exploring our closest environment with our own eyes, through a microscope and with metal detectors.

October ended with a wonderful Halloween celebration. There you could see costume-clad children and staff were seen all over, playing with toilet paper mummies, feeding monsters and apple bobbing to name a few activities.
