December in Eldflaugin was busy as usual. After a fun and effective Children‘s Rights March on the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child at the end of November, the children went in full Christmas mode to prepare for Tjörnin’s Christmas market. The market is an annual event where the children from the After School Centres of Tjörnin (seven total) join hands in creating and selling various items and food stuff. All proceeds go to a charity and this year each After School Centre gave their share to a child with the S.O.S Children’s Villages. This year the children in Eldflaugin decorated ginger bread cookies, made gift tags and Christmas tree decorations which they then sold at the market. The children managed to collect over 300.000 kr. so about 40.000 went to the child that Eldflaugin has been supporting since 2015.

After the Christmas market the Christmas preparations continued. The children have been making all sorts of Christmas decorations, Christmas presents, cookies and decorating Eldflaugin. Tomorrow, 20th December is the last regular day before the holidays so we would just like to say: Merry Christmas!
